Little about me
In 2010, I graduates college as a Personal Support Worker with honours. As a result, I met my husband, Chad of 12 years at LTC facility where we work together. We move to a small town shortly after marriage 6 years ago, in a builder grade home with our 4 kids. Since then, we have been slowly adding some charm and character room by room.
For as long as I can remember I have been decorating, crafting or designing. My childhood bedroom was always under construction, that is to say every square inch was meticulously thought out.
Hunting for a bargain is my jam.I am truly a creative person at heart. That is to say, my mind is constantly going with a million ideas and projects at once.
As the years passed something began to dawn on me. Family and friends were always very interested in my projects, asking advice on paint colours and some type of design problem in their home.I then realized that maybe I should keep all my ideas somewhere I can refer back to in the future.
“The Christina Diaries” was born to inspire the “average” individual, share my experiences, design and to think outside the box when come to budget friendly decor.
Starting a blog was something I have been think about for many years. What actually pushed me to pursue this passion was, about a year after I unfortunately lost my daughter in 2017. She was 22 years old , beautiful, kind and full of life. Gone without warning, in the blink of an eye. Obviously crushed beyond belief and a piece of my heart will forever be missing.
I realize life is way too short and tomorrow is never promised. So right there and then I decided to go for it! I don’t know what the future holds but, I’m ready for this blogging journey and hope you’ll join me!
Therefore, my goal is to create a comfy, inspiring, useful home on a budget that anyone can achieve. Most importantly, for me than how our house looks, is how I make our home feel for my family.
My hope for this blog is to inspire and you may just find a little hope for your home. Also, to encourage and motivate others as they use their creative minds and discover the simple pleasures of making your house, your home.
No need to break the bank, with some thriftiness and a bit of creativity, any house-regardless the size, budget or style-can be a beautiful cozy home.
